What should my child learn in kindergarten?

What math skills will my child learn?
Your child will learn to:
- Count and order numbers up to 30
- Name and write numbers up to 30
- Name and compare shapes
- Draw and cut out shapes
- Sort things into groups
- Distinguish time, months, and days of the week
What social skills will my child learn?
Your child will learn to:
- Share with others and take turns
- Be creative and curious about learning

What about exercise?
Your child will have:

What can I do at home to prepare my child for school?

- Preschooling
- Celebrate successes

- Talk and tell stories together
- Use your imagination
- Read together daily
- Play with letters and sounds
- Sing songs
- Blend sounds into words and rhyme words
- Complete simple experiments
- Play with numbers, shapes, blocks, or puzzles
- Play with time, calendars, months, and days of the week
- Play with money, count numbers, and/or shapes
- Draw and cut out shapes together
- Start a collection of animals, rocks, baseball cards, etc.
